470 Cade Loop Demolition
Ingram, TX
A.M. Pitts Construction performed complete demolition and haul-off services for two older riverside cabins at 470 Cade Loop in Ingram that sustained flood damage during the severe Kerr County flooding. This residential demolition project required careful equipment operation in a wooded setting with mature trees and uneven terrain left by the flood events.
Demolition Scope
Structures Removed:
- Two single-story wood-frame cabins with metal roofing
- Screened porch additions and wooden decking
- All associated foundation materials
Preserved Elements:
- Stone chimney structure carefully preserved at owner's request, requiring methodical removal of surrounding wood structure
Site Clearing:
- Complete debris removal and haul-off to appropriate facilities
- Grading and leveling of cleared building footprints
- Preservation of mature oak trees throughout the property
- Final site cleanup leaving lot ready for future development
Operational Considerations
The project presented specific challenges working on flood-affected property:
- Precision Demolition: Carefully dismantling wood structures around the stone chimney to preserve it intact
- Terrain Management: Navigating equipment around established trees and natural grade changes in the wooded lot
- Debris Handling: Careful sorting and removal of flood-damaged building materials
- Access Coordination: Managing equipment movement on the residential street without disrupting neighboring properties
- Environmental Care: Protecting surrounding vegetation during demolition and debris loading operations
Equipment & Process
We utilized our Hitachi excavator with grapple attachment for controlled structure dismantling, allowing us to carefully separate and load materials while working around the mature tree canopy and preserving the stone chimney. Roll-off containers were strategically positioned for efficient debris management and multiple haul-off trips to complete the cleanup.
The cleared lots provide the property owner with a clean slate for rebuilding or redevelopment following the flood damage, with all structures and debris professionally removed, the chimney preserved as requested, and the site restored to grade.
