Nancy Bond Ranch
Washington, TX
The Nancy Bond Ranch project in Washington, Texas put our crew's skill and logistics to the test - constructing a 2,000-foot by 16-foot limestone base road for ranch access through tight terrain and inclement weather.
Road Construction
- Limestone Base Road - Placed, conditioned, and compacted limestone base material across the full 2,000' x 16' road corridor to produce a quality, long-lasting road surface
- Culvert Installation - Installed 4 culverts along the road for proper drainage management
- Fence Clearing - Cleared an existing old fence line to establish the road corridor
Pond & Bog Stabilization
One of the primary challenges on this job was constructing the beginning of the road through what had been a shallow pond and bog area. Standard base material alone wouldn't hold in the saturated, soft ground. To solve it:
- Limestone Bull Rock - Utilized large limestone bull rock to stabilize the soft subgrade where the pond once was, creating a solid foundation for the road base above
Logistics
Coordinating material delivery to this site required significant logistical effort. With one-way roads and tight turns throughout the property, we successfully managed roughly 70 belly dump trucks hauling limestone base and bull rock to the site - keeping the job moving efficiently despite the access constraints and weather delays.
